Here are a few videos that I found that I thought might interest all of you. One of them I included in our presentation. They are about Mackintosh, Horta & Klimt. I hope you enjoy them.

I saw this and immediately thought of this class. Starting with the "Cave of Forgotten Dreams" type of design to 2008....

I found this image on Hongkiat.com. This website has all kinds of information & ideas about everything "design".

Check it out!

I thought that this Grateful Dead poster would be good to show a bit of design history. Check out the colors & the typestyles used. You still see the colors, but the typestyles seem to be more to the period of the poster than what we would see today.

This is an album cover from 1954. I thought the design was striking in the way the face is just kind of a shadow effect. Also, there's just a minimal amount of color, too. I've seen other, more recent, designs try to use this kind of idea. But, I think that this one works because of the time period it was designed in & by the use of the "fain" face over the top.

I'm pretty new to the blogging scene, so, be gentle... I'm in the process of boxing up everything in my mother's home & moving it here to Champaign. I have ran across quite a few things that I think are very cool & that would fall into the "Design" category. This old "3d" viewer is one of them. The way that it takes 2 pictures on a card & combines them in such a way that when viewed through the "viewer"  makes the image look 3d. It is such a cool thing that I'm going to keep it to pass down to my son. It has a dozen different cards with it & I'm hoping to find others on-line to add to my collection. I find these to be in the Graphic Design category because all of the cards are like mini advertisements. They all have the name & place listed on the back of them, along with the year, photographer name & any copyright information.
